Why should I use ONE STEP
Extra steps …
One Step offers a range of additional services – we pride ourselves on providing bespoke, alternative, and interesting ideas such as…
Therapy - Retail Style
An accompanied trip to the local shops, or maybe the Cotswold Designer Village with the assured company of someone to organise the trip, book an easy access café and be driven and dropped home with your shopping unpacked and a welcome home drink served before leaving.
Stepping down memory lane
Perhaps photos, music, or books offer comfort, connection, or therapy for someone who lives alone or has health issues.
We can offer bespoke visits to ensure that time is spent on interests, memories or interesting avenues that are both absorbing and therapeutic.
A little pick-me-upA gentle walk and chat with litter pickers!
Yes, you heard it here first. Walking and talking are both hugely beneficial for mental and physical health, and what better way to while away a walk than giving something back to the environment and litter picking on the way. Tools and gloves will be provided, and there’s no need to carry any bags. If a cuppa adds to the enjoyment, this can be a 60 or 90 minute appointment.
How are you? …
Wellbeing when a Carer or being Cared for are essential elements which can often get pushed aside in overly busy or stressful lives.
Being Cared for can come with its own set of stresses, especially if you’ve been used to being the busy person, parent or if illness has hit suddenly. Loss of independence, guilt or frustration, for all concerned, can lead to loss of self and self-care.
By having One Step in support of a Carer everyone can benefit.
A few hours away from Caring Duties, knowing that you can relax and have some important downtime is so important.
One Step can offer companionship to both the Carer and Caree or Partner. We are happy to work with you and find the best way to support you.
One Step at a time
Sometimes life feels like an endless ladder where we’re either taking two steps forward and one back or worse! Life will always be a series of steps, but sometimes we need a little help.
The to-do list is never-ending, and as we age and deal with life’s challenges, the climb can become tiring and even painful. One Step can help – by looking at your priorities and taking some of the pressure off, or by assisting with tasks, appointments, or getting you out of the house, better equipped or better connected with support services. Those steps get smaller and easier to climb.
Doctor’s, Hospital or specialist appointments
Navigating corridors, signs, waiting rooms and understanding what’s being said in busy environments can be difficult. Taking a taxi is an option but having a fully accompanied visit to a health appointment could make all the difference. One Stop will stay with you and ensure you are home safely with any notes taken for you to refer to after you are back home.
Family PA
When family or friends don’t live close by, can't be on hand or may be in need of some extra support themselves, getting through the pile of life-admin or managing appointments can be a real challenge. Booking appointments, managing food shopping, and day to day life become a real challenge. One Step can step in to help. We can discuss your challenges and develop a plan to support you and your family.
Stepping out
Could a day be just what the doctor ordered, or you’d love to be able to visit an old friend, grandchild or take in the sea air – it's not always easy getting out and about as we age or have less mobility or ability. One Step could help arrange a bespoke day-out tour or an accompanied visit.
PA Services
Time is so often in short supply when you are Caring or not familiar with online tools and resources. One stop can help with online applications, signposting to any number of services. Let us take the admin strain. Helping you to ask the right questions and find the right service for you.
